Cindy Sheehan: Is Anybody Else Sick Of This Broad?
by Jim Brogan
Nov 26, 2005

Cindy Sheehan has inappropriately been compared to Rosa Parks, but from her recent declarations that America "is not worth dying for", to accusing pro-Israel lobbyists of masterminding the war in Iraq, to asserting that the United States is "waging nuclear war in Iraq", Cindy Sheehan has become a polarizing figure to most of the American populace.

The Thanksgiving List

I came across this article about the five things that Rev. Jerry Falwell said he was most grateful for during this Thanksgiving Season. As I read through the five items I have to say that I agreed, without reservation, with each and every item. Read the complete article here.

Jerry Falwell's Thanksgiving

1. I'm thankful for my health.
2. I'm thankful for my family.
3. I'm thankful for President Bush.
4. I'm thankful for America's Founders.
5. I am most thankful to know the God of the universe.

Happy Thanksgiving

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations."(Psalm 100:4-5)

We are blessed in this great nation. Our blessing is not that some secular humanists had time on their hands and sailed their yachts to the New World. Men of God, their wives, and children set sail 385 years ago, in 1620. They had one single purpose in making that voyage - religious freedom. They, their descendants and those who followed from across the seas established a government based on Judeo-Christian principles.

I have yet to find a single ancestor who was a secular humanist running from persecution. My ancestors were Puritans, Pilgrims, and Quakers. A significant number of my ancestors were Huguenots running from a murderous French King to seek religious freedom in the New World. Some of my Quaker ancestors were released from an English jail to make the voyage to religious freedom. One and all came for religious freedom. Once here they established a government and institutions established on Judeo-Christian principles.

This land is our land and it is a land that is governed by Judeo-Christian principles. It is my fervent prayer that it shall remain so. It will not happen if we sit on our collective hands. We need to challenge the secular humanists on their every attempt, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to make their religion the religion of the land. The secular humanist religion is empty of morality and meaning.

Psalm 122:1 (King James Version) I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

Alfranken the Village Idiot

"The issue was whether Florida's Supreme Court or the United States Supreme Court [would decide the election.] What did you expect us to do? Turn the case down because it wasn't important enough?" - Antonin Scalia

"What did you expect us to do? Turn the case down because it wasn't important enough? Or give the Florida Supreme Court another couple of weeks in which the United States could look ridiculous?" - Lloyd Grove (NY Daily News Daily Dish) musing about what Antonin Scalia may have been thinking.

I wish that I had been there. It is always oh so entertaining to see a pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracist get his comeuppance in public. The two biggest problems with Alfranken are that Air America is fueling his pretentiousness and he is probably too smart to realize that he is an imbecile.

Al Franken Schooled by Antonin Scalia at New York Event

By CK Rairden

Al Franken stepped out of his comfortable echo-chamber of Air America on Monday night and was given more than one lesson by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. The C-List political commentator attempted to rip off a sophomoric shot at Justice Scalia, but was quickly embarrassed, according to a report in the NY Post.

Pericles Addresses Our Nation And Armed Forces

Pericles words are as appropriate today for us, and our war on terrorism, as it was appropriate for the Athenians thousands of years ago. It should be clear why such concepts as "timeless wisdom" or, "wisdom for the ages" arises.

Very little remains that could be called a verbatim quote. We owe what we know about the wisdom of Pericles to those who followed him many years afterwards, Thucydides and Plutarch.

Some selected quotes attributed to Pericles,

For the whole Earth is the Sepulchre of famous men; and their story is not graven only on Stone over their native earth, but lives on far away, without visible symbol, woven into the stuff of other men's lives.

Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it.

Future ages will wonder at us, as the present age wonders at us now.

If Athens shall appear great to you, consider then that her glories were purchased by valiant men, and by men who learned their duty.

Instead of looking on discussion as a stumbling block in the way of action, we think it an indispensable preliminary to any wise action at all.

Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you.

Make up your mind that happiness depends on being free, and freedom depends on being courageous.

Trees, though they are cut and lopped, grow up again quickly, but if men are destroyed, it is not easy to get them again.

Wait for that wisest of all counselors, Time.

The following Funeral Oration text is taken from, Thucydides, translated by Benjamin Jowett, first edition (London: Oxford University Press, 1881

Most of those who have spoken here before me have commended the lawgiver who added this oration to our other funeral customs. It seemed to them a worthy thing that such an honor should be given at their burial to the dead who have fallen on the field of battle. But I should have preferred that, when men's deeds have been brave, they should be honored in deed only, and with such an honor as this public funeral, which you are now witnessing. Then the reputation of many would not have been imperiled on the eloquence or want of eloquence of one, and their virtues believed or not as he spoke well or ill. For it is difficult to say neither too little nor too much; and even moderation is apt not to give the impression of truthfulness. The friend of the dead who knows the facts is likely to think that the words of the speaker fall short of his knowledge and of his wishes; another who is not so well informed, when he hears of anything which surpasses his own powers, will be envious and will suspect exaggeration. Mankind are tolerant of the praises of others so long as each hearer thinks that he can do as well or nearly as well himself, but, when the speaker rises above him, jealousy is aroused and he begins to be incredulous. However, since our ancestors have set the seal of their approval upon the practice, I must obey, and to the utmost of my power shall endeavor to satisfy the wishes and beliefs of all who hear me.

I will speak first of our ancestors, for it is right and seemly that now, when we are lamenting the dead, a tribute should be paid to their memory. There has never been a time when they did not inhabit this land, which by their valor they will have handed down from generation to generation, and we have received from them a free state. But if they were worthy of praise, still more were our fathers, who added to their inheritance, and after many a struggle transmitted to us their sons this great empire. And we ourselves assembled here today, who are still most of us in the vigor of life, have carried the work of improvement further, and have richly endowed our city with all things, so that she is sufficient for herself both in peace and war. Of the military exploits by which our various possessions were acquired, or of the energy with which we or our fathers drove back the tide of war, Hellenic or Barbarian, I will not speak; for the tale would be long and is familiar to you. But before I praise the dead, I should like to point out by what principles of action we rose ~ to power, and under what institutions and through what manner of life our empire became great. For I conceive that such thoughts are not unsuited to the occasion, and that this numerous assembly of citizens and strangers may profitably listen to them.

Our form of government does not enter into rivalry with the institutions of others. Our government does not copy our neighbors', but is an example to them. It is true that we are called a democracy, for the administration is in the hands of the many and not of the few. But while there exists equal justice to all and alike in their private disputes, the claim of excellence is also recognized; and when a citizen is in any way distinguished, he is preferred to the public service, not as a matter of privilege, but as the reward of merit. Neither is poverty an obstacle, but a man may benefit his country whatever the obscurity of his condition. There is no exclusiveness in our public life, and in our private business we are not suspicious of one another, nor angry with our neighbor if he does what he likes; we do not put on sour looks at him which, though harmless, are not pleasant. While we are thus unconstrained in our private business, a spirit of reverence pervades our public acts; we are prevented from doing wrong by respect for the authorities and for the laws, having a particular regard to those which are ordained for the protection of the injured as well as those unwritten laws which bring upon the transgressor of them the reprobation of the general sentiment.

And we have not forgotten to provide for our weary spirits many relaxations from toil; we have regular games and sacrifices throughout the year; our homes are beautiful and elegant; and the delight which we daily feel in all these things helps to banish sorrow. Because of the greatness of our city the fruits of the whole earth flow in upon us; so that we enjoy the goods of other countries as freely as our own.

Then, again, our military training is in many respects superior to that of our adversaries. Our city is thrown open to the world, though and we never expel a foreigner and prevent him from seeing or learning anything of which the secret if revealed to an enemy might profit him. We rely not upon management or trickery, but upon our own hearts and hands. And in the matter of education, whereas they from early youth are always undergoing laborious exercises which are to make them brave, we live at ease, and yet are equally ready to face the perils which they face. And here is the proof: The Lacedaemonians come into Athenian territory not by themselves, but with their whole confederacy following; we go alone into a neighbor's country; and although our opponents are fighting for their homes and we on a foreign soil, we have seldom any difficulty in overcoming them. Our enemies have never yet felt our united strength, the care of a navy divides our attention, and on land we are obliged to send our own citizens everywhere. But they, if they meet and defeat a part of our army, are as proud as if they had routed us all, and when defeated they pretend to have been vanquished by us all.

If then we prefer to meet danger with a light heart but without laborious training, and with a courage which is gained by habit and not enforced by law, are we not greatly the better for it? Since we do not anticipate the pain, although, when the hour comes, we can be as brave as those who never allow themselves to rest; thus our city is equally admirable in peace and in war. For we are lovers of the beautiful in our tastes and our strength lies, in our opinion, not in deliberation and discussion, but that knowledge which is gained by discussion preparatory to action. For we have a peculiar power of thinking before we act, and of acting, too, whereas other men are courageous from ignorance but hesitate upon reflection. And they are surely to be esteemed the bravest spirits who, having the clearest sense both of the pains and pleasures of life, do not on that account shrink from danger. In doing good, again, we are unlike others; we make our friends by conferring, not by receiving favors. Now he who confers a favor is the firmer friend, because he would rather by kindness keep alive the memory of an obligation; but the recipient is colder in his feelings, because he knows that in requiting another's generosity he will not be winning gratitude but only paying a debt. We alone do good to our neighbors not upon a calculation of interest, but in the confidence of freedom and in a frank and fearless spirit. To sum up: I say that Athens is the school of Hellas, and that the individual Athenian in his own person seems to have the power of adapting himself to the most varied forms of action with the utmost versatility and grace. This is no passing and idle word, but truth and fact; and the assertion is verified by the position to which these qualities have raised the state. For in the hour of trial Athens alone among her contemporaries is superior to the report of her. No enemy who comes against her is indignant at the reverses which he sustains at the hands of such a city; no subject complains that his masters are unworthy of him. And we shall assuredly not be without witnesses; there are mighty monuments of our power which will make us the wonder of this and of succeeding ages; we shall not need the praises of Homer or of any other panegyrist whose poetry may please for the moment, although his representation of the facts will not bear the light of day. For we have compelled every land and every sea to open a path for our valor, and have everywhere planted eternal memorials of our friendship and of our enmity. Such is the city for whose sake these men nobly fought and died; they could not bear the thought that she might be taken from them; and every one of us who survive should gladly toil on her behalf.

I have dwelt upon the greatness of Athens because I want to show you that we are contending for a higher prize than those who enjoy none of these privileges, and to establish by manifest proof the merit of these men whom I am now commemorating. Their loftiest praise has been already spoken. For in magnifying the city I have magnified them, and men like them whose virtues made her glorious. And of how few Hellenes 1 can it be said as of them, that their deeds when weighed in the balance have been found equal to their fame! I believe that a death such as theirs has been the true measure of a man's worth; it may be the first revelation of his virtues, but is at any rate their final seal. For even those who come short in other ways may justly plead the valor with which they have fought for their country; they have blotted out the evil with the good, and have benefited the state more by their public services than they have injured her by their private actions. None of these men were enervated by wealth or hesitated to resign the pleasures of life; none of them put off the evil day in the hope, natural to poverty, that a man, though poor, may one day become rich. But, deeming that the punishment of their enemies was sweeter than any of these things, and that they could fall in no nobler cause, they determined at the hazard of their lives to be honorably avenged, and to leave the rest. They resigned to hope their unknown chance of happiness; but in the face of death they resolved to rely upon themselves alone. And when the moment came they were minded to resist and suffer, rather than to fly and save their lives; they ran away from the word of dishonor, but on the battlefield their feet stood fast, and in an instant, at the height of their fortune, they passed away from the scene, not of their fear, but of their glory.

Such was the end of these men; they were worthy of Athens, and the living need not desire to have a more heroic spirit, although they may pray for a less fatal issue. The value of such a spirit is not to be expressed in words. Any one can discourse to you for ever about the advantages of a brave defense, which you know already. But instead of listening to him I would have you day by day fix your eyes upon the greatness of Athens, until you become filled with the love of her; and when you are impressed by the spectacle of her glory, reflect that this empire has been acquired by men who knew their duty and had the courage to do it, who in the hour of conflict had the fear of dishonor always present to them, and who, if ever they failed in an enterprise, would not allow their virtues to be lost to their country, but freely gave their lives to her as the fairest offering which they could present at her feast. The sacrifice which they collectively made was individually repaid to them; for they received again each one for himself a praise which grows not old, and the noblest of all tombs, I speak not of that in which their remains are laid, but of that in which their glory survives, and is proclaimed always and on every fitting occasion both in word and deed. For the whole earth is the tomb of famous men; not only are they commemorated by columns and inscriptions in their own country, but in foreign lands there dwells also an unwritten memorial of them, graven not on stone but in the hearts of men. Make them your examples, and, esteeming courage to be freedom and freedom to be happiness, do not weigh too nicely the perils of war. The unfortunate who has no hope of a change for the better has less reason to throw away his life than the prosperous who, if he survive, is always liable to a change for the worse, and to whom any accidental fall makes the most serious difference. To a man of spirit, cowardice and disaster coming together are far more bitter than death striking him unperceived at a time when he is full of courage and animated by the general hope.

Wherefore I do not now pity the parents of the dead who stand here; I would rather comfort them. You know that your dead have passed away amid manifold vicissitudes; and that they may be deemed fortunate who have gained their utmost honor, whether an honorable death like theirs, or an honorable sorrow like yours, and whose share of happiness has been so ordered that the term of their happiness is likewise the term of their life. I know how hard it is to make you feel this, when the good fortune of others will too often remind you of the gladness which once lightened your hearts. And sorrow is felt at the want of those blessings, not which a man never knew, but which were a part of his life before they were taken from him. Some of you are of an age at which they may hope to have other children, and they ought to bear their sorrow better; not only will the children who may hereafter be born make them forget their own lost ones, but the city will be doubly a gainer. She will not be left desolate, and she will be safer. For a man's counsel cannot have equal weight or worth, when he alone has no children to risk in the general danger. To those of you who have passed their prime, I say: "Congratulate yourselves that you have been happy during the greater part of your days; remember that your life of sorrow will not last long, and be comforted by the glory of those who are gone. For the love of honor alone is ever young, and not riches, as some say, but honor is the delight of men when they are old and useless.

To you who are the sons and brothers of the departed, I see that the struggle to emulate them will be an arduous one. For all men praise the dead, and, however preeminent your virtue may be, I do not say even to approach them, and avoid living their rivals and detractors, but when a man is out of the way, the honor and goodwill which he receives is unalloyed. And, if I am to speak of womanly virtues to those of you who will henceforth be widows, let me sum them up in one short admonition: To a woman not to show more weakness than is natural to her sex is a great glory, and not to be talked about for good or for evil among men.

I have paid the required tribute, in obedience to the law, making use of such fitting words as I had. The tribute of deeds has been paid in part; for the dead have them in deeds, and it remains only that their children should be maintained at the public charge until they are grown up: this is the solid prize with which, as with a garland, Athens crowns her sons living and dead, after a struggle like theirs. For where the rewards of virtue are greatest, there the noblest citizens are enlisted in the service of the state. And now, when you have duly lamented, every one his own dead, you may depart.

"I won't stand for the swift-boating of Jack Murtha,"

That is quote, unqoute Hanoi John Kerry. How soon he, Hanoi John, forgets. Big Bubba, John O'Neill, Swift Boat Veterans, and actual Vietnam Veterans do not easily forget. Hanoi John is not worthy of our respect or trust. Hanoi John was guilty of the vilest calumny against the Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors who ventured into harm's way in Vietnam.

Hanoi John described us as criminals when he testified before the Congress of the United States, "....not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command." He further testified, "randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravages of war."

I am amazed that Hanoi John thinks that he can use a phrase like "Swift-boating" as if that is some terrible, evil accusation. Unlike the dishonorable Hanoi John most of the honorable Swift Boat Veterans actually served a twelve month tour of duty with honor and dignity. They did not return home to disgrace their uniform and lie before the Congress of the United States. If there is a terrible evil involved, it is the lying, duplicitous Hanoi John.

Today the progressive liberal demoracists are becoming absolutely unhinged. The floor of the House of Representatives sounds like a common street demonstration. This was all provoked by anyone who expressed any type of opinion counter to that of Rep. John Murtha, D-PA that we should immediately withdraw from Vietnam. Anyone who expressed their disagreement with Murtha was "swift-boating," "smearing" or worse. Rep. John Murtha probably is a military hero compared to Hanoi John. That, however, does not put him in the category of master global military strategist. He is just another retired military man with an opinion. I am also retired, also served in Vietnam and also have an opinion. The main difference is that Rep. John Murtha will have the opportunity today to have his vote recorded in the House of Representatives.

Today the progessive liberal demoracist members of the House of Representatives are getting what they want in the form of a Republican sponsored resolution as follows,

"It is the sense of the House of Representatives that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately."

Their votes will be recorded for or against. Gentlemen, do we stay or go? Then let the games begin. This should be very interesting to observe as events unfold.

To The Tinfoil Hats, Robin, There’s Conspiracy Afoot

Elections & Voting
What John Kerry definitely said about 2004’s stolen election and why it's killing American democracy

By Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman
Online Journal Guest Writers
Nov 10, 2005, 21:35

The net is abuzz about what John Kerry may or may not be saying now about the stolen election of 2004.

But we can definitively report what he has said about New Mexico and electronic voting machines soon after his abrupt "abandon ship" with 250,000 Ohio votes still uncounted.

And we must also report that what he's not saying is having a catastrophic effect on what's left of American democracy, including what has just happened (again) in Ohio 2005.

In recent days Mark Crispin Miller has reported that he heard from Kerry personally that Kerry believes the 2004 election was stolen. The dialog has been widely reported on the Internet. Kerry has since seemed to deny it.

We have every reason to believe Miller. His recent book, Fooled Again, has been making headlines along with our own How the GOP stole America's 2004 election & is rigging 2008.

Finally, hope for the GOP in 2008. According to these two conspiracy theorist rocket surgeons the fix is in for 2008 and the Republicans have rigged the elections. What a feat that would be if true. This whole schtick will assume the form of a self fulfilling prophecy if the progressive liberal demoracists don't give it up, roll their sleeves up and get to work on actually having an agenda other than "liar, liar, pants on fire."

Drill Sergeant Big Bubba Reminisces

Many years ago at Fort Ord, California some malevolent force in the universe placed almost twenty young men from Samoa in my platoon. There were several more throughout the company but I had the most. I could write a whole book about the events of that one two month training cycle. The problems and challenges that I faced would have been what normally might incur over several training cycles. But, that is a whole ‘nother story as they say.

Certain training classes were conducted in a post theater with two or three companies present for training. We would march the company into the theater parking lot where we meticulously followed an exaggerated procedure for the trainees to ground their equipment and stack their rifles. First they would stack rifles. Then they would remove their load bearing equipment and hats which would be neatly placed at their feet. The whole purpose of what some might think mindless harassment was to teach the trainees to follow procedures as taught to them correctly, with precision and quickly every time.

When it was time to enter the theater, the company would be called to attention and faced to the direction of march. We would then start the trainees double-timing in place. The Drill Sergeants would circulate making sure the trainees were lifting their knees high, in place and in step. We were The Mighty Delta Bulldogs (Delta Bulldogs Never Die, RAH!) so when the trainees began to double-time, they began our Mighty Delta Bulldogs chant. "Delta’s on the warpath, oo, AH. Delta’s on the warpath, oo, AH. Delta’s on the warpath, oo, AH." The trainees would be directed out of formation in a single file, one platoon after another, to the entrance door. They would continue a forward moving double time in place, continuously chanting, until they entered the theater. Inside they walked quickly to their seat and stood facing the stage at attention. Once the company was inside standing at attention in front of their seats a Drill Sergeant would shout out the command, r-e-a-d-y, SEATS! The trainees would quickly take their seats shouting, "Delta Bulldogs Never Die, RAH!"

The trainees would soon learn the drill and as the cycle progressed they needed less guidance to execute all the procedures at the theater. It was almost like the Drill Sergeants would put the trainees on cruise control. One day I was standing outside the theater and the trainees were on cruise control going in the theater. My good friend Drill Sergeant Carl Stewart (are you out there Carl?) was standing there beside me. He got a perplexed look on his face and asked me what the trainees were saying. I had not been paying attention, but, when Drill Sergeant Stewart asked I realized that my trainees running by us were not chanting "Delta’s on the warpath, oo, AH." They were chanting "Delta’s on the warpath, oo, FAH."

What’s the point of the story you ask? Have you seen the Toyota 4 Runner commercial? The one with the happy singing, in the background, tra-la-la-tra-la-la-la-tra and each verse ending with "oo fah, oo fah?" As it turns out there are some pudgy little South Seas tribal characters on the back seat singing. I kept listening to that catchy little tune without any comprehension whatsoever of what was being said. Today I listened and said to myself "wait a minute they are saying oo fah."

Drill Sergeant Stewart and I did not have a clue what was going on other then a certainty that the Samoans were involved when he asked me what they were saying. I did a little quizzing of certain Samoans in my platoon and found out that "oo fah" was indeed a Samoan Language slang term. I learned that it suggested that an unnatural sex act be performed on the person at whom the remark was directed. When I remembered that long ago incident, it made me wonder about the Toyota commercial. You don’t think the tribal actors pulled one over on the sharp Toyota businessmen AND got paid for it, do you?

Eager Anticipation For How To Lose Manual

That famous progressive how-to-lose guru, Bob Shrum, is coming out with a book. Some folks think that Algore and Hanoi John had a knack for losing, or possibly were born losers. Not so, Bob Shrum was there every step of their losing campaign to keep them headed for disaster.

Bob Shrum is the genius guiding hand for eight progressive liberal demoracist losing Presidential campaigns. Without Shrum those two losers (Algore, Hanoi John) probably would have been losers anyway, but, Shrum guided them to a high level few losers attain. Some political operatives claim that Shrum is the best concession speech writer ever in American politics.

Progressive liberal demoracists future candidates everywhere, from dog catcher to President, are looking forward to Shrum's "insider information" how they can become losers, like Algore/Hanoi John, also. This undoubtedly will be Shrum's political testament plus he has stated he will analyze the current direction of progressive liberal demoracists. He also said he would provide his famous losing insight on where the progressive liberal demoracists should be headed.

What if Hillary Rodham-Clinton asked Bob Shrum to consult for her 2008 campaign? That would have Republicans quaking in their cowboy boots. This could be a last try for his long time dream to be a Karl Rovesque Presidential advisor in the middle of a teapot tempest with Republicans screaming for his indictment/dismissal.

Kerry, Gore adviser to air views in book
Success elusive for Shrum in eight presidential campaigns
From Mark PrestonCNN
Wednesday, November 16, 2005; Posted: 4:42 p.m. EST (21:42 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- After spending more than 30 years consulting for Democratic candidates, campaign operative Robert Shrum is using his pen to advance his own, liberal views.

"The book is about what I have seen the direction of progressive politics take, what happens to it and where I think it ought to go," Shrum told CNN in an interview.

The veteran political operative was coy about what else he would say in his book, and Washington insiders were aflutter Wednesday about whether it would include sharp critiques of his clients and colleagues from past campaigns -- particularly the failed presidential bids of Sen. John Kerry and former Vice President Al Gore.

Shocking Development at Corporation for Public Broadcasting

There has been a shocking development at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) that has progressive minded people aghast. It is now believed that the Republican appointed by President Bush to try and bring balance to CPB was actually a conservative who was pushing for the occasional conservative program. His nefarious plan included possibly hiring other conservatives.

This is possibly the closest that CPB has ever come to having their liberal bias balanced with other points of view. Such irresponsible actions would make it very difficult for pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists to air their propaganda without restraint. It was a very close call for progressive minded audiences everywhere.

There can now be no doubt that CPB can and will do whatever it wants other than being accountable to all Americans. CPB is accountable to pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists who know what is best for all Americans. That should be conservative enough, right?

Exec's political bias cited in PBS probe

WASHINGTON (Hollywood Reporter) - In his zeal to force conservative views onto the public airwaves, the former head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting interfered with PBS programming decisions and may have required the corporation's new president to pass "political tests," an internal investigation revealed.

Kenneth Tomlinson, a Republican, also sought to withhold funding from PBS unless the taxpayer-supported network "balanced their programming" with more conservative voices, according to the report released Tuesday by CPB inspector general Kenneth Konz.

Tomlinson was chairman of the corporation until September and resigned as a board member this month after Konz privately shared his findings with the board. CPB said it was taking action to prevent a recurrence, setting up a corporate governance committee and an executive compensation committee.

"These are bold and decisive actions to respond to important issues," CPB chairman Cheryl Halpern said. "The board is unified in its views and in its determination to take meaningful steps to maintain and strengthen public confidence in public broadcasting."

The major government underwriter for programming aired on PBS and public radio, the CPB was established in 1967 to shield public broadcasting from political influence.

Big Bubba Anticipates Dismissal of DeLay Charges

Most people outside of the Great State of Texas have absolutely no grasp of how bogus Travis County District Attorney really is. Perhaps when the DeLay charges are dismissed people will start to understand. Judge Pat Priest will consider motions on 22 November 2005, including motions to dismiss filed by DeLay's attorney, Dick DeGuerin. If Judge Priest decides to allow the trial to proceed Ronnie Earle will embarrass himself right up to the day that Tom DeLay is found innocent of all charges.

This Washington, D.C. white collar criminal defense lawyer sees Ronnie Earle for exactly what he is - a vindictive partisan prosecutor,

We live in the most powerful country in the world and America is arguably at the zenith of its historical strength. Our leading journalists and newspapers, the New York Times to the contrary notwithstanding, are celebrated as models of professionalism and sophistication. Many newspapers and television networks employ journalists with law degrees or at least with some modicum of legal training. Cable television networks devote a significant portion of their programming to trials and legal issues and one such network, Court TV, is supposedly all about the law. Why is it, then, that none of these persons or entities has seriously examined the criminal charges against former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay in the light of Texas statutory and case law? To do so is to discover that the charges against DeLay will almost certainly be dismissed.

Howard the Duck?

Howard Dean: First of all, think there were a lot of veterans were kind of upset that the president chose their day to make a partisan speech.

Big Bubba: I am upset that a dumbsquat, dirty leg civilian, like Howard Dean, would presume to speak for Veterans.

Matt Drudge is calling Howard Dean "Howard the duck." Interesting thought. Howard is delirious, our Duck is delirious. Howard does half pikes off the deep end, our Duck also. Howard's picnic basket is missing a few key ingredients, our Duck is certainly missing a few. Yes, interesting thought, but every state has their share of pond scum sucking, delirious, loud quackers. Must be mere coincidence.

Listening to the Known Liberal Dupe, Juan Williams

I am sitting here eating my beans and cornbread listening to "Fox News Sunday." Mara Liasson and Juan Williams are always entertaining despite being reality challenged. That is what is entertaining to me. Seeing how much they got wrong or totally failed to understand. Juan Williams made a remark the Clinton Administration never made an al-Qaeda/Iraqi connection.

I had to put down my spoon and check that statement out,

Clinton first linked al Qaeda to Saddam
By Rowan Scarborough
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

The Clinton administration talked about firm evidence linking Saddam Hussein's regime to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network years before President Bush made the same statements. The issue arose again this month after the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States reported there was no "collaborative relationship" between the old Iraqi regime and bin Laden.

There is an all out assault on truth and reality by the pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists. Their battle cry that President Bush lied and mislead the American people in order to go to war with Iraq is especially despicable. Like good propagandists they non stop hammer their lie, "Bush Lied" to the point that the lie is affecting the Administration's poll numbers. The troops need to rally and confront these people on every misstatement or distortion of the truth that they make.

Important Information to Forward to Your E-mail List

(This Patriot Action Alert concerns the TRUTH about Iraq's WMD. Please forward this message to your list!)

On the heels of the "White House -- CIA leak" investigation, which concluded that no laws were broken (but charged one administration staffer with perjury), liberals are attempting to parlay that non-starter into a much bigger political brawl. Their charges have no substance, and are completely contrived to keep Republicans off balance through next year's midterm elections.

Sens. Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid and Dick Durbin have accused President George Bush of lying about Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction, insisting he "lied us into war." They are even floating the suggestion that he be impeached.

Here are their accusations:

"The Bush administration misrepresented and distorted the intelligence to justify a war that America should never have fought." --Ted Kennedy

"We all know the Vice President's office was the nerve center of an operation designed to sell the war and discredit those who challenged it. ... The manipulation of intelligence to sell the war in Iraq...the Vice President is behind that." --Harry Reid

"I seconded the motion Sen. Harry Reid made last week. Republicans in Congress have refused, despite repeated promises, to investigate the Bush administration's misuse of pre-war intelligence, so Senate Democrats are standing up and demanding the truth." -- Dick Durbin, who recently compared U.S. troops to the Nazis and Pol Pot.

Naturally, the Democrat's media lemmings are reporting these charges as de facto truth, but there is considerable evidence that these Demogogues and their colleagues believed Iraq had WMD long before President George Bush came to Washington. Here is a small sample of that evidence from the Clinton years:

Bill Clinton: "If Saddam rejects peace, and we have to use force, our purpose is clear: We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."

Madeleine Albright, Clinton Secretary of State: "We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and the security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."

Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Advisor and Classified Document Thief: "[Saddam will] use those weapons of mass destruction again as he has ten times since 1983."

Harry Reid: "The problem is not nuclear testing; it is nuclear weapons. ... The number of Third World countries with nuclear capabilities seems to grow daily. Saddam Hussein's near success with developing a nuclear weapon should be an eye-opener for us all."

Dick Durbin: "One of the most compelling threats we in this country face today is the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Threat assessments regularly warn us of the possibility that...Iraq...may acquire or develop nuclear weapons."

John Kerry: "If you don't believe...Saddam Hussein is a threat with nuclear weapons, then you shouldn't vote for me."

John Edwards: "Serving on the Intelligence Committee and seeing day after day, week after week, briefings on Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and his plans on using those weapons, he cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons, it's just that simple. The whole world changes if Saddam ever has nuclear weapons."

Nancy Pelosi: "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology, which is a threat to countries in the region, and he has made a mockery of the weapons-inspection process."

Sens. Levin, Lieberman, Lautenberg, Dodd, Kerrey, Feinstein, Mikulski, Daschle, Breaux, Johnson, Inouye, Landrieu, Ford and Kerry in a letter to Bill Clinton: "We urge you, after consulting with Congress and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions, including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."

After President Bush was sworn into office in 2001, his administration was handed eight years worth of intelligence analysis and policy positions from the Clinton years -- you know, the years of appeasement when Saddam was tolerated, when opportunities to take out Osama bin Ladin were ignored, as was the presence of an al-Qa'ida terrorist cell in the U.S. -- which reared its head on 9/11.

In the weeks prior to the invasion of Iraq, Democrats, who had access to the same intelligence used by the Bush administration (much of which was compiled under the Clinton administration), were clear about the threat of Iraq's WMD capability.

Ted Kennedy: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."

John Kerry: "I will be voting to give the president of the U.S. the authority to use force if necessary to disarm Saddam because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security. ... Without question we need to disarm Saddam Hussein."

Hillary Clinton: "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock. His missile-delivery capability, his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists including al-Qa'ida members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."

Carl Levin: "We begin with a common belief that Saddam Hussein...is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."

Al Gore: "We know that he has stored nuclear supplies, secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."

Bob Graham: "We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has and has had for a number of years a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."

For the record: Here's a partial list of what didn't make it out of Iraq before the OIF invasion: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium, 1,700 gallons of chemical-weapon agents, chemical warheads containing the nerve agent cyclosarin, radioactive materials in powdered form designed for dispersal over population centers, artillery projectiles loaded with binary chemical agents, etc. Assuming Irag had no WMD because only small caches were recovered after Operation Iraqi Freedom began is perilously flawed logic. That, in no way, affirms what he spirited out through Iran and Syria before OIF.

So, ask Ted, Dick and Harry, what is their real agenda?

One might fairly conclude that they are willing to reduce U.S. national security to political fodder by accusing the President of the United States of "lying." Problem is, the President had no political motive for Operation Iraqi Freedom -- only a legitimate desire to fulfill the highest obligation of his office -- to defend our liberty against all threats.

Ted, Dick and Harry, on the other hand, have plenty of political motivation for their most recent antics -- and all of America should look upon these disgraceful Demo-gogues, and anyone who supports this dangerous folly, as traitorous louts.

On Veterans Day, President Bush noted: "Today our nation pays tribute to our veterans -- 25 million vets.... At this hour, a new generation of Americans is defending our flag and our freedom in the first war of this century. This war came to our shores on the morning of September 11, 2001. ... We know that they want to strike again and our nation has made a clear choice. We will confront this mortal danger to all humanity. We will not tire or rest until the War on Terror is won. ... [I]t is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began. ... We will never back down. We will never give in. We will never accept anything less than complete victory."

"Deeply irresponsible"? He is too kind.

From The Front Lines of the Cultural Civil War

Who believes in American Exceptionalism? Judeo-Christian values part XXIV

Nov 1, 2005
by Dennis Prager

The cultural civil war in which America is engaged is, in large measure, about American exceptionalism. Conservative America generally believes in the concept; liberal America generally finds it chauvinistic and dangerous.

What is American exceptionalism? The belief that America often knows better than the world what is right and wrong. This belief drives most of the world's opinion-makers crazy. And it particularly infuriates the American Left, that part of America that trusts what is called "world opinion" more than it trusts the American people.

And from where does this belief in American exceptionalism derive? Mostly from the religious beliefs that underlie American values. That is a major reason the current culture war is about the place of Judeo-Christian values in American life. Those who believe that America must remain a Judeo-Christian nation (in terms of values) are far less respectful of international institutions than those who wish to make America a secular nation.

Old Bill's Special Poem For All Troopers On Memorial Day

Fiddler’s Green

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers' Green.
Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he's emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers' Green.
And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to Fiddlers' Green.

Sad, But, William Jefferson Clinton Is Facing Health Challenges

Despite his youthful appearance fifty-nine year old William Jefferson Clinton is showing the confusion, and disorientation, that could point to the early onset of elderly dementia. Either that or he thinks that the American people are so hopelessly ignorant they will believe anything he has to say.

William Jefferson Clinton speaking Thursday at an academic conference about his Presidency described the efforts to impeach him as egregious. The confused ex President obviously was mixing up that incident with fellatio in the Oval Office of the White House. Now that is egregious, participating in a sex act in the Oval Office with someone’s daughter entrusted to his care as an intern.

As further indication of his mental decline, and confusion he, "challenged those who say history will judge him poorly because of his White House tryst with Monica Lewinsky." Clearly President Clinton forgot that his encounter with Ms. Lewinsky was much more than a mere meeting. After all there was that semen stained dress that was evidence of something much more than a mere business meeting.

William Jefferson Clinton’s legacy and how history will judge him is certainly debatable to some. One thing is known for certain. President Clinton will probably be the first President of the United States to be approached by the adult entertainment industry with an offer for rights to his life story and political testament. I can just hear the teasers. Daddy’s little girl ripe.........The lust of the ages comes of age in one epic.................Featuring 15 hot girls who can’t................

Nannychusetts the Butt of Jokes?

Romney distances himself from KKK joke
By Andrew Miga, Associated Press Writer November 10, 2005

BOSTON --Republican Gov. Mitt Romney was introduced as head of a state run by the "KKK ... the Kerry, Kennedy Klan" before a speech Thursday in Washington, words that sparked criticism from Massachusetts Democrats and a rebuke from Romney himself.

"It's not appropriate to joke about the Ku Klux Klan," Romney said in a phone interview from Washington after his luncheon address to the Federalist Society.

Romney branded the remarks "ill-advised" and "inappropriate."

Romney laughed along with the audience, The Boston Globe reported in a story for Friday's edition, and thanked the speaker for "a very generous introduction."

The governor insisted he wasn't really paying attention to the introduction.

"I was looking at my notes and preparing for my speech at the time," Romney said.

State Democratic Party chairman Phil Johnston, who has criticized Romney for making Massachusetts the butt of jokes as a liberal bastion during his out-of-state travel as he considers a run for president, said he was outraged that Romney could find any humor in the remarks referring to Sens. Edward Kennedy and John Kerry invoking the KKK.

More News From Nannychusetts

Boss-achusetts: Do as we say, or pay
MASSACHUSETTS politicians last week rose to new heights of holier-than-thou arrogance. House members on Thursday — just three days after the 80-page bill was introduced — voted overwhelmingly to tax businesses that do not provide health insurance for their employees, and to require all residents who can afford it to buy health insurance.

The payroll tax, which is bad enough, at least is designed to replace an existing levy on businesses. The mandate that all residents carry health insurance is a wholly new burden.

Yesterday at the Polls

California voters defeated Proposition 73 which would have required parental notification prior to a minor receiving an abortion. This is always a fascinating question. No parental notification for medical treatment of a child, however, don’t worry about the child receiving a tattoo prior to having the abortion.

CALIFORNIA PENAL CODE, Section 653.
Every person who tattoos or offers to tattoo a person under the age of 18 years is guilty of a misdemeanor.

As used in this section, to "tattoo" means to insert pigment under the surface of the skin of a human being, by pricking with a needle or otherwise, so as to produce an indelible mark or figure visible through the skin.

One must wonder about the warped thinking that compromises the secular humanist’s sacred sacrament of abortion.

Proposition 74 would have increased teachers’ probationary period from two years to five years. Sounds innocuous enough, however, anyone familiar with the stranglehold that California public service unions have on the state can understand their fear of this proposition. Public education is in a state of decline in California, however, most of the output will end up in California institutions of higher ignorance where they will fit right in to the scheme of things.

Proposition 75 was sure to create fear as well in the public service unions. It would have required accountability for union money expended for political purposes. This type of legislation would lead to a further decline in the power of any union required to get the approval of an employee to use his hard earned money to involuntarily support a progressive liberal demoracist union’s political agenda. When I was a union member, my biggest dissatisfaction was that I involuntarily supported a political agenda that I did not agree with. It is simply wrong and needs to be stopped.

Proposition 76 did not stand a chance of the proverbial snowball in hades of passing. Limit politicians’ ability to tax and spend? Get real. Give the Executive the ability of line item veto? Never happen. Tax and spend, tax and spend it's off to bankruptcy we go.

Proposition 77 was to modify the redistricting method for California voting. The current computer-based system is based on the University of California, Berkeley, campus. Apparently there is significant involvement of University personnel in operating the system. What could be more fair than that famous bastion of the law and free speech, U.C., Berkeley, helping incumbents, California wide, to be reelected?

Today’s political buzz is the effect of yesterday’s elections on national politics. Most of the elections have absolutely no consequence, nationally, especially in New Jersey and Virginia. Texans sent a strong message to Hanoi John, and his ilk, that we still maintain conservative, traditional beliefs here in the Great State of Texas. I have no doubt that the demoracists did not hear the message loud and clear. They will continue to beat their collective heads against the brick wall and wonder we they cannot regain power. The bottom line, in this type of election, Texas and New Hampshire have merely confirmed their beliefs.

The California election was of great significance to Texas and the Nation. Governor Schwarzenegger’s reelection would rank as a minor miracle. The California hardheads still have not gotten the message. Their tax and spend habits, public school policies and public service unions will continue to have businesses shutting down in California and moving elsewhere.

Texas has been in the past, and will be in the future, huge beneficiaries of the exodus. California will ultimately bankrupt itself and will not learn a lesson. Their response will be to thrust their tin cup in Washington’s direction to ask them to bail them out (a la New York City).

That will be when Californians will finally learn to control their urges because the Federal Government will not help them recover from their self inflicted wounds. If the Federal government does help, in any way, the price must be drastic financial reform. Personally I do not favor helping them at all when they finally bankrupt theirselves. Yesterday they passed on several significant items that would have helped bring their finances under control.

The way that I see the drama playing out is that Governor Schwarzenegger will not be reelected. Schwarzenegger will be replaced with some progressive liberal politically correct demoracist party hack who will take the election as a mandate to tax and spend California into a state of oblivion. Personally I wish that Warren Beatty would be the next Governor of California to speed up the process of decline.

There are great joy and taunts galore in California over how the "GOP lost" in yesterday’s elections. How Governor Schwarzenegger will not be reelected. How the voters of California do not have to endure the pain of reform of the state’s finances. We will see what happens to joy and taunts when they stick out their tin cup in Washington’s direction.

One Vote, Two Answers

Yesterday voters in the Great State of Texas made their beliefs known overwhelmingly. The vote for Proposition Two was so huge that there should be no further need for discussion. Marriage will remain the union of one man and one woman in holy matrimony. The only county not to have a majority vote for Proposition Two was Travis County home to Ronnie Earle Political Persecutions, Inc.,

Prop 2 passes statewide; Travis County an exception

Updated: 11/8/2005 11:04 PM
By: News 8 Austin Staff

Despite a last-minute effort to rally Travis County to vote against Proposition 2, the gay marriage ban amendment passed overwhelmingly in Texas.

Texas became the 19th state to approve a constitutional ban of gay marriage as voters decided nine proposed amendments on Tuesday.

Now the rest of the story. Travis County, home to the Texas Branch of the "Let's Use the Courts to Get Us What We Can't Get at the Ballot Box" progressive liberal demoracists also is home to one of their chief operatives, Ronnie Earle, who is currently persecuting Representative Tom DeLay. Are you starting to understand why Tom DeLay wants his trial moved from Travis County to his home county of Fort Bend? On the one hand we have Travis County which we will codename "fruits and nuts county." On the other hand we have Fort Bend County which we will codename "jury of my peers county."

Judge Pat Priest will hold the first session of the trial on November 22 in Travis County. Tom DeLay could probably find an unbiased jury of his peers in almost any Texas county with the exception of Travis County. It is time for this ridiculous, politically motivated trial to go away. The charges are so problematic that they will probably be dropped and Ronnie Earle will return to being a bad memory.

Big Bubba Has Been To Church Here

Liberal Church May Lose Funds Over Sermon
Nov 07 9:09 PM US/Eastern Associated Press

LOS ANGELES
The Internal Revenue Service has warned a prominent liberal church that it could lose it's tax-exempt status because of an anti-war sermon a guest preacher gave on the eve of the 2004 presidential election, according to church officials.

The Rev. George F. Regas did not urge parishioners at All Saints Episcopal Church to support either President Bush or John Kerry, but he was critical of the Iraq war and Bush's tax cuts.

The IRS warned the church in June that its tax-exempt status was in jeopardy because such organizations are prohibited from intervening in political campaigns and elections.

I have attended church here on more than one occasion. There are many nice things about this church. I noticed the liberal orientation immediately during my first visit. I also question whether anyone will encounter the Gospel and Jesus Christ on their first visit to this church. That sentiment begs the question when will it happen. You are sure to hear of all sorts of social concerns during any visit. I am thinking what's the point? I wish that I had been in attendance yesterday. Bishop Desmond Tutu preached at both services.

If you keep scrolling down on the last link, you can see the heart of Pasadena All Saints Episcopal Church. They have a great heart for the poor, the sick and the homeless. Throw Cindy Sheehan and the ACLU in the mix and there you go. These folks, and all churches, really need to be very careful about involvement in elections. There are appropriate actions for churches and other actions to be avoided. I hope that the IRS just shakes them up a little bit and gets everybody's (churches) attention. Then let them off the hook with a wrist slap.

My next trip to California I will visit this church again if I have the opportunity. I don't agree with their politics or social activism, but, what does that have to do with me sitting there with other sinners worshiping G-d?

Not To Worry Taxachusetts

Next year's election also is crucial to New Bedford

You may have noticed that we have a big election in New Bedford come Tuesday. But keep in mind we have an even bigger one in Massachusetts next year. The mayor of New Bedford, no matter who he is over the next two years, is going to need all the help he can get from a sympathetic governor or he is going to flounder. New Bedford has been an abused city over the past three years at the hands of a rent-a-state governor more intent on burnishing his conservative credentials to impress Bible-thumping yahoos in the Red States than on doing his job. It took him weeks to detect a difference between New Bedford and Fall River and, for all we know, he still thinks that Fall River is a dumb place for an oceanarium and that New Bedford already has too many highway exits.

They sure know how to come up with those zinger epithets, like Bible-thumping yahoos, but, their knowledge of people of faith is very limited if not non existent. It took a long time for the Evangelical crowd to vote for Catholic candidates without squealing. I don't think that will happen anytime soon for the Mormon candidates. I say that without comment merely as an observation of reality. Moving right along I do not think Mitt Romney has any more of a chance to be President than Hanoi John or Tanker Dukakis. Disregarding religion he is not a potential candidate that Big Bubba can get behind. I am, for the moment, a huge fan of Senator George Allen, R-VA, for President.

Senate Judiciary Committee Meeting, July 1809

Considering the nomination of former President Thomas Jefferson to the Supreme Court:

Chairman: We're honored to have you to appear before us, Mr. Jeff … I mean, Mr. President. We thank you again for your outstanding service to our country, especially as president of the United States for the last eight years. We particularly honor you for originating the phrase "wall of separation between Church and State." We on this committee are concerned about giving any place to public displays of religiosity.

Was George Washington A Christian?

George Washington's Adopted Daughter Discusses Washington's
Religious Character
------------------------------------------------------------
Woodlawn, 26 February, 1833.
Sir,

I received your favor of the 20th instant last evening, and hasten to give you the information, which you desire.

Truro Parish is the one in which Mount Vernon, Pohick Church, and Woodlawn are situated. Fairfax Parish is now Alexandria. Before the Federal District was ceded to Congress, Alexandria was in Fairfax County. General Washington had a pew in Pohick Church, and one in Christ Church at Alexandria. He was very instrumental in establishing Pohick Church, and I believe subscribed largely. His pew was near the pulpit. I have a perfect recollection of being there, before his election to the presidency, with him and my grandmother. It was a beautiful church, and had a large, respectable, and wealthy congregation, who were regular attendants.

He attended the church at Alexandria when the weather and roads permitted a ride of ten miles. In New York and Philadelphia he never omitted attendance at church in the morning, unless detained by indisposition. The afternoon was spent in his own room at home; the evening with his family, and without company. Sometimes an old and intimate friend called to see us for an hour or two; but visiting and visitors were prohibited for that day. No one in church attended to the services with more reverential respect. My grandmother, who was eminently pious, never deviated from her early habits. She always knelt. The General, as was then the custom, stood during the devotional parts of the service. On communion Sundays, he left the church with me, after the blessing, and returned home, and we sent the carriage back for my grandmother.

It was his custom to retire to his library at nine or ten o'clock where he remained an hour before he went to his chamber. He always rose before the sunand remained in his library until called to breakfast. I never witnessed his private devotions. I never inquired about them. I should have thought it the greatest heresy to doubt his firm belief in Christianity. His life, his writings, prove that he was a Christian. He was not one of those who act or pray, "that they may be seen of men." He communed with his God in secret.

My mother resided two years at Mount Vernon after her marriage with John Parke Custis, the only son of Mrs. Washington. I have heard her say that General Washington always received the sacrament with my grandmother before the revolution. When my aunt, Miss Custis died suddenly at Mount Vernon, before they could realize the event, he knelt by her and prayed most fervently, most affectingly, for her recovery. Of this I was assured by Judge Washington's mother and other witnesses.

He was a silent, thoughtful man. He spoke little generally; never of himself. I never heard him relate a single act of his life during the war. I have often seen him perfectly abstracted, his lips moving, but no sound was perceptible. I have sometimes made him laugh most heartily from sympathy with my joyous and extravagant spirits. I was, probably, one of the last persons on earth to whom he would have addressed serious conversation, particularly when he knew that I had the most perfect model of female excellence ever with me as my monitress, who acted the part of a tender and devoted parent, loving me as only a mother can love, and never extenuating or approving in me what she disapproved of others. She never omitted her private devotions, or her public duties; and she and her husband were so perfectly united and happy that he must have been a Christian. She had no doubts, no fears for him. After forty years of devoted affection and uninterrupted happiness, she resigned him without a murmur into the arms of his Savior and his God, with the assured hope of his eternal felicity. Is it necessary that any one should certify, "General Washington avowed himself to me a believer in Christianity?" As well may we question his patriotism, his heroic, disinterested devotion to his country. His mottos were, "Deeds, not Words"; and, "For God and my Country."

With sentiments of esteem,

I am,
Nelly Custis-Lewis

NOTE: This letter was written by George Washington's adopted daughter Eleanor (Nelly) Park Custis Lewis. She wrote this letter in 1833 in response to author Jared Sparks request for info on Washington's religious beliefs, for a book he was writing that was published under the title; "The Life of Washington".

Progressive Liberal Demoracists - Are You Listening?

Democrats must "let the deeply religious people and the moderates on social issues like abortion feel that the Democratic party cares about them and understands them," he said, adding that many Democrats, like him, "have some concern about, say, late-term abortions, where you kill a baby as it's emerging from its mother's womb." -- Jimmy Carter (Carter condemns abortion culture, By Ralph Z. Hallow, THE WASHINGTON TIMES, November 4, 2005)

My guess is that they will not listen and that they must continue their season of being losers. Ultimately they must listen or cease to exist as a political party.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting Board Saved From Evils of Conservatism

Former CPB Chairman Ken Tomlinson Resigns
By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 11/3/2005 5:49:00 PM

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting Board of Directors said Thursday that embattled former board chairman Ken Tomlinson has resigned.

The board has been reviewing a CPB Inspector General's report--called for by a pair of congressmen--on Tomlinson's relationship with the board stemming from Tomlinson's attempts to add more conservative programming.

Stuck on Stupid

Like that great general, Lieutenant General Russell Honore admonished, "Don't get stuck on stupid." Travis County prosecutor Ronnie Earle needs to heed that admonishment. Ronnie has indicted Tom Delay for "money laundering" for the way political contributions were moved around. Is everyone with me? The indictment is for "money laundering." Want to know what this really is all about? In the words of the partisan demoracist, Ronnie Earle, in his argument for Judge Schraub's recusal,

"Governor Perry was a major figure in the redistricting effort that the (DeLay) successfully argued," Earle said in his motion. "Because Judge Schraub has donated to Governor Perry, he has disclosed through this free speech that he agrees in principle with Perry's agenda regarding Tom DeLay's redistricting map."

Does everyone now understand what this is really all about? The progressive liberal demoracists no longer have the Great State of Texas by the throat in a death grip. Now Republican voters have become the majority through the ballot box. One of the benefits of being the majority party is that you can call the shots every ten years when the law mandates necessary redistricting based on the census. The progressive liberal demoracists just can't get over being losers.

Judge Schraub (Earle statement above) was not going to be the trial judge. He was going to pick the trial judge. My bet is that Earle is disliked by Judge Schraub because he is weird. Earle did not want to take a chance. No problem for Judge Schraub who quickly recused himself and asked the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court to name the trial judge. Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson is a Republican. Jefferson quickly named semi-retired Judge Pat Priest of San Antonio, Texas as the trial judge.

I think that provided there are no more politically motivated challenges Judge Pat Priest will be a fine no nonsense choice to preside over this trial. He has a reputation for being a sober, fair judge. He has also literally written the book about criminal evidence in Texas courts (Texas Courtroom Criminal Evidence, Judge Pat Priest, ©1998). This is a bad turn of events for Ronnie Earle because I don't believe that he is lawyer enough to argue a case before Judge Pat Priest.

Boston - Laughingstock of the Nation

Activists 'terrorize' ex-'gay' conference

Police create barricade as homosexual activists protest Focus on the Family conference at Baptist church in Boston (courtesy: Christian Civic League of Maine)
Enraged homosexual activists, shouting obscenities and chanting "Shut it down," amassed outside a Baptist church in Boston to harass and intimidate attendees of a Focus on the Family conference on recovering from homosexuality through the power of God.

The protesters – present from 8 a.m. Saturday until the event ended in the evening – yelled, screamed and defiantly waved signs at the Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston, prompting police to order conference participants to remain inside, reported Article 8 Alliance, a group campaigning against same-sex marriage. As the conference began to wind down, Article 8 said, more activists converged – aided by a sound truck – and completely blocked the street, prompting a "near-riot" as Boston police continued to stand and watch.

The Secular Humanist Playbook

The secular humanist religion does not have anything similar to the Ten Commandments. They do not stress theirselves out by believing that to tell a lie is a sin. Actually they believe that telling a lie can be helpful in obtaining something that you really, really want, like trying to bamboozle the citizens of the Great State of Texas into voting against Proposition Two. Read this story to find out what they lied about,

Texans Gear Up to Decide on Gay Marriage
By KELLEY SHANNON
The Associated Press
Thursday, November 3, 2005; 8:00 AM

AUSTIN, Texas -- Opponents of a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages in Texas have a message for you: The proposition could mean trouble for marriage between a man and woman.

With telephone calls, e-mails and Internet postings, gay rights activists and others opposed to Proposition 2 are spreading that idea as part of their longshot battle to derail the measure in Tuesday's election.

The tactic has supporters of the same-sex marriage ban crying foul. It has opponents boasting that they may have a chance at defeating the measure _ in Texas, of all places, the conservative home state of President Bush.

This Is Not A Surprise

Do As I Say (Not As I Do)
by Peter Schweizer

Hypocrisy has proved to be a wonderful weapon for liberals in their war against conservatives. When a pro-family politician gets caught cheating on his wife, or a conservative pundit turns out to have a bad habit or addiction, their enemies use the charge to good effect. Fair enough. But what happens when the spotlights are turned on liberals themselves? Do the supporters of progressive taxes, affirmative action, strict environmental safeguards, and unionized labor practice what they preach? In a word: NO. Do As I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy is Hoover Fellow Peter Schweizer's hard-hitting exposé of the contradictions between the public stances and real-life behavior of prominent liberals like Hillary Clinton, Michael Moore, Al Franken, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Ralph Nader, Barbra Streisand, and many more.

Big Bubba Points Out The Obvious

'Party trumps race' for Steele foes
By S.A. Miller
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
November 2, 2005

Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican. Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log. Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican candidate so targeted. But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with "pointing out the obvious."

What is obvious to Big Bubba is that the pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists believe that there are no moral constraints to their misuse of race as an issue. One may only imagine the upheaval that would occur if Black Republicans did similar things to Senator Barack Obama, D-Il. These people are despicable because of their intellectual dishonesty.

Big Bubba's Big Errand Of The Day

A great thing about the Great State of Texas is early voting for about two weeks prior to the main event you can go to a poll and vote. You can fit voting into your own schedule and usually there are no lines. The main event for this election is "Proposition Two,"

"The constitutional amendment providing that marriage in this state consists only of the union of one man and one woman and prohibiting this state or a political subdivision of this state from creating or recognizing any legal status identical or similar to marriage."

This proposed constitutional amendment has the local secular humanism going berserk trying to spin this issue into something that will greatly harm the Great State of Texas and its citizens. Their spin is that this constitutional amendment is poorly worded and that it could wipe out traditional marriage. The pseudo intellectual progressive liberal secular humanists, like their running mates the pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists, think everyone who is not with them is a moron.

There are, however, several problems with their position. This is the Bible Belt, son, and some folks call the Great State of Texas the Buckle of the Bible Belt. People of all traditional, conservative religious beliefs will be at the polls voting for this amendment. Also, Texas is a solid red state with very little risk of infection with blue state social engineering idiocy. So, it's off to vote I go.

This Was Not The Big Surprise Of The Day

Judge Removed From DeLay's Criminal Case
Nov 1, 5:15 PM (ET)
By APRIL CASTRO

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The judge in the conspiracy case against Republican Rep. Tom DeLay was removed at the congressman's request Tuesday because of his donations to Democratic candidates and causes.
A semi-retired judge who was called in to hear the dispute, C.W. Bud Duncan, ruled in Delay's favor without comment. A new judge will be appointed to preside over the case against the former House GOP leader.

The obvious is always predictable. District Judge Bob Perkins was a contributor to the political campaign of Hanoi John and also contributed to moveon.org. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a sitting judge making political contributions. The problem in this one case is that the prosecution’s motives are suspected to be more politics than the law. There are plenty of judges, in the Great State of Texas, who have made either no contributions, or token contributions to one, or both political parties. Perkins had to go.

The progressive liberal demoracist wishful thinkers still don't see the obvious in their partisan politician hero, Ronnie Earle. He is the political hatchet man of Texas demoracists. The local demoracists, like the national party, are really sore because they irritate voters who end up voting Republican. Republicans becoming the majority party in the Great State of Texas meant that they got to redistrict the state based on the 2000 census results. This state of affairs caused the progressive liberal demoracists to go off the deep end. After all they had been doing that for 100 years. Obviously the voters did not realize how important controlling that process was to the progressive liberal demoracist.

The party hacks have their partisan attack dog, Ronnie Earle on the job. Their theory is that if you can't win at the ballot box then lets try to destroy the opposition with some trumped up charges. There is no question that these charges are going to go away. The only real question is when exactly will it happen.

The Laugh Of The Day

The pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists forced the Senate into a very unusual closed door session. Every analysis of the situation by numerous talking heads and pundits seem to point to some very simple intellectual principles that the pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists cherish that caused the doors to slam shut.

These intellectual principles are "wah we lost the 2004 elections", "wah we are not in power", "wah Karl Rove was not indicted", "wah Dick Cheney was not implicated", "wah George W. Bush is President", wah, wah, wah. These folks are serious cry baby sore losers who are causing a serious decline in the intellectual life of this county. What do they stand for? What do they want? Do they really think that their constant whining will return them to power? They offer America a sad spectacle of whining losers with absolutely no agenda.

The icing on the cake of the biggest laugh of the day was the post closed door session meetings with the press. Senator Reid started out seeming mealy-mouthed enough until one reporter asked why the demoracists didn't consult with the Republican leadership before deciding to go for door slamming. Senator Reid became absolutely unhinged upon hearing the question. Quite a spectacle. Everything that I have seen this week tells me the demoracists are in trouble today, in 2006 and probably will continue to be in trouble right up to the 2008 campaign. Unless of course they stop whining and frothing at the mouth long enough to come up with an agenda that their base can get behind.

Runner-up For The Laugh Of The Day

Cindy Sheehan for President
Or Senate. The anti-war left seeks a challenger for Hillary Clinton
by Kristen Lombardi
November 1st, 2005 12:22 PM

Cindy Sheehan, a/k/a the "peace mom," probably never intended to sound like a candidate, but she did. Sheehan, the activist who became the face of anti-war sentiment after camping outside President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, last summer, had just mounted the podium at the Brooklyn Peace Fair on October 22. And already she was getting political.

These people just don't stop. The thought of President Hillary is hilarious enough. The thought that some people seriously want to back Sheehan has Big Bubba rolling on the floor holding his sides laughing.
