This Was Not The Big Surprise Of The Day

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The judge in the conspiracy case against Republican Rep. Tom DeLay was removed at the congressman's request Tuesday because of his donations to Democratic candidates and causes.
A semi-retired judge who was called in to hear the dispute, C.W. Bud Duncan, ruled in Delay's favor without comment. A new judge will be appointed to preside over the case against the former House GOP leader.
The obvious is always predictable. District Judge Bob Perkins was a contributor to the political campaign of Hanoi John and also contributed to moveon.org. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a sitting judge making political contributions. The problem in this one case is that the prosecution’s motives are suspected to be more politics than the law. There are plenty of judges, in the Great State of Texas, who have made either no contributions, or token contributions to one, or both political parties. Perkins had to go.
The progressive liberal demoracist wishful thinkers still don't see the obvious in their partisan politician hero, Ronnie Earle. He is the political hatchet man of Texas demoracists. The local demoracists, like the national party, are really sore because they irritate voters who end up voting Republican. Republicans becoming the majority party in the Great State of Texas meant that they got to redistrict the state based on the 2000 census results. This state of affairs caused the progressive liberal demoracists to go off the deep end. After all they had been doing that for 100 years. Obviously the voters did not realize how important controlling that process was to the progressive liberal demoracist.
The party hacks have their partisan attack dog, Ronnie Earle on the job. Their theory is that if you can't win at the ballot box then lets try to destroy the opposition with some trumped up charges. There is no question that these charges are going to go away. The only real question is when exactly will it happen.

I hear that DeLay's defense has applied for a change of venue out of Austin as well. It's hard to get a fair trial by a jury of his peers in "enemy territory". If he swings that, he might actually get a fair trial.
I wonder if they'll be able to "poll the jury" for political affiliation before the trial begins to get... say five republicans, five democrats and two independents...(almost sounds like a recipe for "acquittal").
I love a good witch hunt. What's the Democratic Party gonna do when all their indictments turn up "empty" in '06?

A change of venue is also Delay's best chance that the charges will quickly be proven to be bogus and squashed by the court without a trial. No matter how we proceed to the outcome the outcome will still be innocent of all charges.
I am sitting here listening to a potential laugh of the day. A leftist talk show host just said that the President was diverting the American people with bird flu and Alito's nomination. She said that what the people really wanted to know about was why President Bush lied about WMD and invaded Iraq. She added that the President was being paid to visit with Prince Charles.
I wonder if these people are going to be foolish enough to make "Bush Lied" the central plank of their party platform, again, in 2008. Do pretentious losers ever learn?
I'm afraid that THIS crowd is incapable of learning anything. Their naivete leads them down the wrong path EVERY time.
