A Conservative Teacher's Commentary
A Conservative Teacher In A Blue State
By Nancy Salvato
December 5, 2005
Briefly, while driving to a parent teacher conference for my son this morning, I had the opportunity to listen to recently slandered, former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett discuss a great business idea; that someone should open a conservative coffee shop and call it "Warbucks". A portion of the proceeds would go to help the US soldiers charged with defending freedom around the world. Many listeners called in to say they really liked this suggestion.
Now I'm not really sure if he was serious or not because I didn't get a chance to listen in long enough but it got me to thinking. It sure would be nice to go where conservatives could comfortably hang out and to have some good intelligent conversation over a cup of java. Sadly, living in a blue state in a metropolitan area, I often find myself dominated by liberals who disdain conservative beliefs and ideas.

"Warbucks?" Because Defense is so egregiously underfunded?
Mr. Ducky, I believe that there is actually medication available that will help you with your coherency issues.
norm, find a point in American History where no one was making a claim that defense was underfunded and get back to me.
Recently noticed trivia. Number one seller of coffee in US - Dunkin Donuts.
Also recently noted. Diabetics who consume coffee and tea less likely to have diabetic kidney failure. Caffeine thought to be the beneficial substance. What would Joseph Smith do?
Aside from having Libtards accusing Warbucks employees of killing the rainforest and spreading greedy American Imperialism (gosh, I sound like a libtard), every store would be Molotoved on the first knight, regardless the good cause they promote. However, open a 24 hour Warbucks in a concealed carry state, and advertise a grande latte and target practice, (stool with a nice view of the street arsonist protesters would come down)..
"It is said the ancient Greeks used a simple method to stop the multiplication of laws. Anyone wishing to propose a new law had to do so while standing on a platform, with a rope around his neck. If the law was passed, the rope was removed. If the law was voted down, the platform was removed."
I say we apply the same same standard to those who argue for "immediate redeployment" of US forces in Iraq.

Sorry, it's just such a bad "joke" on so many levels of lame-o-tude: "warbucks" instead of "starbucks" because...? only liberals like starbucks? because "war" is to be celebrated? And the profits fund troops because...liberals are not supposed to "like" the troops? It's just so lame and wrong.
I'll never, ever understand why conservatives wake up every day and actually amuse themselves by telling each other how much better than liberals they are.
Now Howard Dean...that's good comedy, right there. Enjoy it while you got it.
Yeah, S, guess it goes both ways.
Dunkin Donuts has aggressively gone for that market, Bubba. Looks like it worked. Maybe Samwich's ad agency cut a few promos...
There have been confirmed Big Bubba sightings at Catfish Parlour, 4705 E Ben White Blvd, in Austin. I think that I will make it an after holiday treat to drive up there to Catfish Parlour.
samwich, a "picture" of my pancreas would reveal a scarred organ struggling. It would also reveal a birth defect that caused many problems for my pancreas.
Austin's a great town. Would love to visit again; great music, great restaurants. I thought San Antonio was rather lovely as well. My wife and I had a great stroll along the river walk.
Never been to west texas, though, and didn't care for Houston or Corpus.
Just occurred to me after skimming through this blog: 40% of its regular posters are millionaires. You really do attract a select crowd Bubba.
Norm, I am actually on my way to my first million. That little adsense box has generated almost $2.50 pure profit for me.
I am hoping that one of you millionaires will take me to lunch the next time you are in town. Something to do while waiting for that first million.
When I finally get misanthropundit.com up and running I actually plan on making San Antonio an important part of the site. I have been out taking pictures of art, architecture, etc. I will also give an insider look at where the Big Bubba goes to stay big - hint - it is not a gym.
