Teddy Does Stand-up Comedy
The bridge jumper was quoted by the Boston Globe as saying, "Every day, I think they regret that John wasn't elected." Not the Big Bubba, Teddy. I regret the embarrassment inflicted on America's Veterans by the progressive liberal demoracists nominating a candidate who disgraced his uniform, slandered his former comrades in arms, and consorted with the enemy. You say you want to do it again, Teddy. Now that's funny. Get thee to thy nearest comedy club. The laughs await you funnyman.
The progressive liberal demoracists seem to have already narrowed their possible choices down to the First Prevaricator's conniving half and Hanoi John. Hmm, interesting choices. Let me know how that works out for y'all, ya hear?

Kerry will come to his senses, but perhaps not before he "anoints" a successor. Edwards? Heh heh. Good luck!
My gut feeling is Hillary won't be able to get the nomination without playing two primary opponents against each other. She would run a far better campaign than the last two, but frankly I don't care for her and I doubt I'm alone among democratic voters in that regard.
Personally I'm convinced the democrats did not want to win the last two elections badly enough. They made some very simple mistakes. If they want to win this one, they're going to need someone like an Evan Bayh. Laugh if you want, but he'd be an excellent candidate.
Of course, if Condi (the only person connected to the Bushes who would stand a snowball's chance) ran that would make things extremely interesting.
I would prefer a Condi over a Hillary. My latest thought is that Condi could not make it because of race issues. There would be huge numbers of voters saying "you know some of my best friends are black, but, I just don't think we are ready for a female President yet." Racist demoracists would be off the hook because they will vote the party regardless. Black voters will be calling her Uncle Tom. It would be a real circus of everything but the issues.
Hillary without Condi as an opponent scenario would be she simply loses. I am certain that she would not carry the Old South. I am fairly certain that most of the West would vote against her. I don't think she stands a chance.
samwich, maybe the Ted Kennedy Hip Flask Museum will restore his lost prestige. I hear that his famous hip flask with built in straw for underwater slugs is the premier exhibit.
Republican realpolitik practicioners always have an eye on the Old South. Mitt Romney would utterly fail to win Southern support on many different levels.
1. Mitt who?
2. Morman you say?
3. From where?
Next!
I don't know Bubba. Maybe it's time for Republicans to put their money where the mouth is in that big tent and put Condi up there.
You could force the racists in your own party to show their hand and slither away, while at the same time shattering the huge democratic crutch of identity politics. There would be inevitable cries of "Uncle Tom," but the backlash against those cries would more than make up for it.
Policymaking aside, that actually would be a very good thing for the country.
If only for the very reasons you state, Bubba, I think the democrats would think long and hard before front-running Hillary.
Then again, Samwich may be on to something regarding the "sacrificial lamb." There is the Republican party, and then there are its conservative constituents. Sometimes the needs of the two do not intersect.
Let me see if I understand your latest attack of delirium, Duck. You say the Police Department of a Black majority city, with a Black Mayor, and up until recently a Black police chief is a Nazi youth type organization? How does that work Mr. Ducky. Are you implying that Black people have allowed this sorry state of affairs to occur because they are not as smart as you? Please, Duck, explain.
We had a very controversial case here involving a Mexican national shopping downtown with his family. He resisted off-duty police working as security, had a heart attack and died.
I watched the video of this 64 year old man in New Orleans. I saw the punches. I also saw him struggling mightily to resist the police trying to handcuff him. He was a victim all right. A victim of his own ignorance in resisting the police.
How does this affect the Republican Party? Louisiana is a notoriously corrupt state in the clutches of the progressive liberal demoracists. Shouldn't they take the hit?
samwich, like I said, 2. Morman you say?
It is not unusual, at the track, to have several longshots. Typically Presidential races, after the tumult of the primaries, will feature no more than one long shot. Hillary and Mitt in the same Presidential race is not too likely.
Semiotics are a specialty of the "new" left. Means to "overcome" right brain Superego programming AND evade detection by the "rationale" left brain.
You're definitely "on to them" samwich. Keep doggin' 'em.

I'm for Newt in '08. A man with a plan.

And please, let it be a REAL Straussian VP. Alan Keyes.

Those wishing to make campaign donations can send them either to Newt or Alan

samwich,
Did you ever stop and think the Newt might be "positioning" himself nearer the center by working "with" Hillary.
I mean, the subliminal I get when looking at the two bookends together is "center".
;-)

Just call me Mr. Gullible samwich. I'll take a southern liberal over a northern one anyday.

Farmer John, our great grandparent's enterprise is starting to look more attractive everyday that goes by. I don't think secular humanism and a Godless public square was what the Southern intellectuals who helped birth this country had in mind.
BB,
I couldn't agree with you more.
