A Further Thought On Armed Forces Day + 1
I was trying to do my chores done when ABC's 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' came on. It was so moving I had to watch. Jessica Lynch, remember her the former POW, had nominated the family of her former room mate, and best friend, Lori Piestewa for an "Extreme Makeover."
Lori's mother and father are raising her children. They were living in a nondescript rental double wide trailer near Tuba City, Arizona. Now, thanks to Extreme Makeover, they are living in a $500,000 home outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. The home's electricity is supplemented by a wind generator and solar panels that are estimated to reduce the electric bill by about two thirds. Truly a great story about what the grateful citizens, of a grateful nation, have done to help the family whose daughter made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq. As a card carrying grandfather I testify that those grandparents are making a loving sacrifice raising their two beautiful grandchildren. The chubby little boy was crying when he saw his new home. It was a great story for our time.

Who said that one TV show constituted how we are caring for our vets? It was a TV show, Ducky, get a grip.
